I didn’t plan on writing anything on here because I’m fearful and rusty and I prefer not to be out in the open. But fuck it.
Signs. I read them and sometimes I heed them. On Twitter I follow this account for writers that is, of course, encouraging and full of little gems of wisdom from famous writers present and past. I recognize the truth in the quotations and subsequently feel guilty for not putting the pen to paper or semi-hunt ‘n’ pecking my way to some… thing. Some written thing. The writers tell us to write often and without shame, very difficult for creative neurotics like myself.
I realize that in the life the biggest, most lasting changes come from things that happen gradually, incrementally over time. The power of accumulation. Here’s to hoping I’ve accumulated a painful enough case of creative blue balls to get the ball rolling here—to actually start writing for myself regularly.
It may not be pretty, it may not please you but like I said before, fuck it.
What up 2014?
